The Hessian Table Tennis Association (HTTV) and the long-established table tennis brand GEWO are continuing their successful collaboration: the supplier partnership, which has been in place since 1 July 2021, has now been extended ahead of schedule by a further two years. Instead of the original contract, which was due to expire on 30 June 2027, the partnership will now run until at least 30 June 2029.
GGEWO, founded in the 1950s in Gelnhausen, Hesse, has developed into a globally recognised brand in table tennis over the decades. With a wide range of blades, rubbers, tables and textiles, GEWO is not only present in popular sports today, but is also well represented in top-class sport - with top players such as An Jaehyun (WR No. 18), Quadri Aruna (WR No. 21) and international young talents such as Samuel Kulczycki and Lev Katsman, who have relied on GEWO since their youth.
The brand is distributed by CONTRA Sport GmbH, founded in 1980 and today one of Europe's leading table tennis mail order companies. Many clubs and associations - both nationally and internationally - rely on CONTRA's quality and service. Also in Hesse, for example the TTC OE Bad Homburg, which is fully equipped with GEWO material.
‘We would like to thank the HTTV for the consistently trusting discussions,’ explained GEWO Managing Director Wolfgang Sohns and Sales Manager Germany Frank Ehlert. ‘Our common goal remains to enable all Hessian clubs to benefit from this partnership in the long term.’
Hessian players have been wearing the latest GEWO collection at national tournaments since 2021 - a collaboration that not only benefits the top players. The clubs can also look forward to a wide range of support programmes in the future.
With the early extension of the contract, both partners are sending a strong signal in favour of continuity, reliability and the promotion of table tennis in Hesse. Further joint projects are already being planned.
